Thoughts on Buddhist influences in Asia
I find it fascinating how a single religion revoulutionized all of China because it shows what a religion can do, it gave many people power, which is actually the opposite of what Buddhism is suppoesd to do which is lead modest lives. Instead, this power lead to corruption and most likely caused much conflict. I find it interesting how each territory created their own vision of the Buddha, from the almost starving looking Buddha to the more famous, larger Buddha. I also find it interesting how even today, when we think of Buddha, many do think of the large version of Buddha instead of the original because we probably do more trade with China than India, so we see more of their versions of Buddha than the original Indian versions. It shows how trade is a great vehicle for religion.

Welcome my AP blog
Howdy,
I enjoy history because I have always been naturally curious about it. I dont really have many hobbies, I just relax when I have nothing to do, and I don't play any sports. And I don't go anywhere. Very exciting.
